Lubrication Type: Requires specialized multi-grade marine transmission fluid or engine oil depending on exact thermal operating requirements.
KEY FEATURES
Space-Saving V-Drive Layout: The "IVE" designation specifies an integrated V-drive. By angling the output shaft forward under the engine before running out through the hull, it minimizes the length of the engine room, providing boat builders with more usable internal living area.
Smooth Hydraulic Shifting: Equipped with a hydraulically operated multi-plate clutch package that ensures soft, precise, and virtually instantaneous gear engagement without clunking or harsh vibration.
Equal Power in Forward and Reverse: The internal gearing allows full rated power and identical 2.01:1 reduction ratios in both rotation directions, making it ideal for twin-engine installations using counter-rotating propellers.
EVC System Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with Volvo Penta’s proprietary Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) platform. This ensures precise diagnostics, electronic shift protection (preventing accidental high-RPM shifts), and optional trolling valve integration for slow-speed maneuvering.
Heavy-Duty Construction: Built using high-tensile, robust helical gears housed in a rugged casing designed to withstand the high-torque output of modern common-rail marine diesel engines.
