New Volvo Penta SX-A 1.95:1 Ratio Sterndrive. Old Stock, Never Installed!
The Volvo Penta SX-A sterndrive with a 1.95:1 gear ratio is a single-propeller marine propulsion unit designed for smooth acceleration and efficient mid-range performance, commonly paired with V6 and V8 gasoline engines.
SPECIFICATION
Drive Type: Single propeller sterndrive (compatible with both right-hand and left-hand rotation)
Gear Ratio: 1.95:1
Clutch Type: High-performance cone clutch for smooth, silent shifting
Gears: Pattern-matched spiral bevel gears to maximize durability and reduce gear noise
Steering Angle: Maximum 28° rotation in each direction
Exhaust System: Integrated exhaust routed through the drive's cavitation plate and the propeller hub
Gear Oil Type: Fully Synthetic Gear Oil meeting API GL-5, SAE 75W-90 specifications
Oil Capacity: Approximately 2.1 Liters
Power Steering Fluid: Standard Volvo Penta power steering fluid
Trim System: Hydraulic Power Trim electronically controlled via the Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) system
Maximum Tilt Angle: Up to 52° max tilt (with factory options at 42° and 32°)
Impact Protection: Built-in kick-up function that automatically releases the drive to absorb impact if it strikes a submerged object
Drivetrain Protection: Equipped with an overload protection sleeve (break-away coupling) to safeguard internal transmission components during sudden prop impacts
KEY FEATURES
Single-Propeller Design: Uses a streamlined torpedo shape and single aluminum or stainless-steel propeller setup to reduce hydrodynamic drag.
Cone Clutch: Provides smooth, quiet, and effortless shifting without clunking.
Integrated Exhaust: Routes engine exhaust through the propeller hub to minimize noise and underwater emissions.
Hydraulic Power Trim: Allows operators to adjust the drive angle easily for an optimal running attitude in varying sea and load conditions.
Corrosion Protection: Built with high-grade alloy aluminum, thorough anti-corrosion coating, and sacrificial anodes for longevity in saltwater and freshwater environments.
